Lee Roy Selmon has a history that combines family scholarship football and volunteering for the community. First of all the Selmons were brought up by Lucious as well as Jessie Selmon, on a farm near Eufala located in Oklahoma as one of their nine children. Two soccer. He is among three brothers who participated in the football team of Oklahoma. Three brothers were All-America. One year 1973 Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy received the Outland & Lombardi Awards for being the most effective lineman in the USA. For three years, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy as the starter. The team also took home two national championships. In his role as a National Football Foundation Scholarship-Athlete, Selmon was given an award for his third time in 1975. Selmon obtained a degree in education. Lee Roy was involved in volunteering for ten hours per week while he attended college. After college, he moved in Tampa and played nine seasons with the Buccaneers. He made the All-Pro for three occasions. Then he started his career. The year 1988 was the first time he was working as an Account Relations Officer at First Florida Bank in Tampa. He worked for the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute and the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It was not a surprise when In 1982, The Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy among the top ten outstanding young people across the nation. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and was a tall of 6'2 inches. In his time at college, he was the captain of the 1975 team. In 1993, Roy joined the University of South Florida's sports department as Director of Athletics as an associate. In 1988, Selmon was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. In addition, he was inducted into an appearance in the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In 1989 The Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation presented their Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Sr. The award ceremony was conducted by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
