Lars Mikkelsen-3-1024x657Lars Dittmann Mikkelsen, born 6 May 1964, is a Danish actor. He was a character in the drama series The Killing. Copenhagen mayoral candidate Troels Hartmann in the drama series The Killing,[1] Charles Augustus Magnussen in the third series of Sherlock, the Russian president Viktor Petrov in the American House of Cards on Netflix, and Grand Admiral Thrawn in Star Wars Rebels. He was presented with the Reumert Prize of Honour in 2011. At the age of 27 He enrolled in the National Theatre School of Denmark. He graduated from that school in 1995. In addition to his part in the drama series released globally as The Killing after that, he appeared in two more internationally highly acclaimed Danish drama series, Those Who Kill and Borgen III. He was the President of Russia in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock. He was awarded an International Emmy Award in 2018 for his performance in the Danish TV drama Herrens Veje,which was broadcast in the UK in 2019 under the name Ride Upon the Storm
